Bcci released ipl 2022 mega auction rules and regulations for retention of players.Bcci set maximum purse limit at 90 crores for each franchise.
Retention rule for each ipl team
There are different retention rules for new and old franchise. New franchise can just only pick 3 players and on the other hand old franchise able to retain for players.
Rules for Old ipl Franchises
Will Name Retained Players by 30th November 2021, maximum of 4 players can be retained. 3 Indians & maximum two foreigners. Every old franchise can pick 3 Indian 1 foreign player or two Indian two foreigner. No franchisee can enjoy the trade window with other franchise.
Retention rules for New new Franchises
Two New teams to finalized their 3 players outside of auction between 1st December 2021 to 30th December 2021. Not more than 2 Indians & 1 foreigner. All the old franchise are not happy with it but BCCI allotted this opportunity for building equal teams.
RTM Cards: There will also be no Right to Match (RTM) cards this time around.
Biggest names in IPL 2022 Mega auction
There are very much chance that the teams that are not able to perform well in past few years try to make a better squad by releasing their most of the players.
